JV Wins 1st Round Playoff Game Over Gardens

A 4-run 7th inning boosted the JV Wolverines past Palm Beach Gardens, 6-3, in the first round of the JV County Tournament on Saturday, April 2 at the Santaluces Complex. Starting pitcher Ethan Kramer threw five innings with no earned runs. Alex Barnhart finished the Gators off in the final two innings. Wellington Takes Down RPB, Atlantic

The Wellington Wolverines took two games during the week, coming away with 2-1 victories over Royal Palm Beach and Atlantic. On Friday, April 1, first baseman Kyle Black hit a two-out, two-run double in the 4th inning, driving in Dom Paolo and Ryan Stark as the Wolverines (13-6) defeated Royal Palm Beach 2-1 in a district game at the WHS Field. Stark (4-1) threw six innings, allowing one earned run on four hits, and two strikeouts. John Campagnuolo earned the save in a hitless 7th inning. On Thursday, March 31, the Wolverines defeated Atlantic 2-1 at Delray's Little Fenway Park as starting pitcher Angelo Brunelas tossed four innings, allowing just two hits, one earned run while striking out four. After Stark scored from third on a balk by the Atlantic pitcher, shortstop Christian Vazquez drove in catcher Dylan Tosto to give Wellington the lead in the second inning. Wolverines Post 3-1 Record in Orlando Tournament

The Wellington Wolverines used a four-run 7th inning to break open a tie game in the final round of the Central Florida Spring Break Slam, defeating Rogers Heritage (AR), 6-5 on Thursday, March 24 in Orlando. Wellington finished its trip going 3-1 in the tournament. In the 7th, third baseman Dom Paolo drove in Jerry Cook with a sinking single to right field to break the 2-2 tie. Ryan Stark followed with an RBI single and freshman pinch hitter Ethan Kramer slammed a two-run double into left field, giving Wellington (11-6) a 6-2 lead. Rogers Heritage gathered three runs in the bottom half of the inning before reliever Matt Brewster shut them down by striking out the last batter with the bases loaded, earning the save.
